Weather station saves money long run, but its a luxury buy. Horticultural stations are nice because trees slowly recover soil fert, so one or two in your farmlands help long term, the work-bonuses to corn production is pretty nice too. Most of the random buildings have helpful, but not significant effects. Zoos, cabarets, and art museums are expensive, but will maintain crowds all game long. Build a pub first cause its cheap as hell, and its the smallest footprint building you can convert into a secret police HQ late-game. Most of the cheap entertainment building are pretty worthless once you start making significant progress. Condos are even better than houses for slotting into weird coners, but are power hogs. Also a single tile wider than apartments, and so are very easy to l demolish and replace with apartments when the time comes. Tenements are cheap, efficient, and almost decent when electrified. The good news is once filled, you have YEARS worth of a reserve in case of embargo. The first two ships docking after building it will attempt to import the max 500 unit volume, so there will be a very large import bill until storage is filled, then costs plummet to a trickle. The burn-rate of uranium is small, a couple dozen uranium a year if i remember right, but like all the other industrial buildings it has an internal storage of 1000 units it will attempt to fill ASAP. Yep, You'll have to import uranium, but the plant is very efficient. Personally I don't understand the hate for T6. You often hear the community complain about this a lot. For example homes, and transportation must be strategically placed. ![]() T6 system is much more complicated then that. Build early and replace with something more profitable when the time comes. I thought being good at T5 would make T6 easy. But they're dirt cheap for a factory, require no inputs and are good for expansion and employing high-school educated pop early-game. On that note, enable fish imports, cheaper than corn and doubles your food-per-ship.Ĭement has a low teamster priority, and its low-price, low volume export to begin with, they make next to no money even under ideal conditions. You'll still need Farms for food production eventually unless you want to spam docks for food imports. If i remember right its something like a 33%-50% increase in yield per farmer harvest. Plantations are significantly more effective than farms. I also rarely import anything else than corn for my marketplaces. How do you guys provide entertainment to the population? I usually end up just building 1 pub, 1 restaurant, 1 cabaret, 1 Ch Museum, and One cinema.īunch of buildings I don't understand (they seem weak to me): Horticultural station (I like to run logging camps at the start - nice 1-2 K export income, no deforestation happen.), Weather station, Academy of Science (Blueprints cost just few $), smugglers, Diplo office. If I have space where I can't fit anything else I put standard house there. Sprinkle in Same sex marriage edict (people of the same sex live together), and you can house a bunch of people in not too many buildings. If I just reduce rent to 2 everyone will move in. 2.5K (with diplo edict), you can spam them like there is no tomorrow. What is the best way to house Tropicans? I always (since T1 :) ) go for apartment buildings. How does nuclear plant work? Do I have to import Uranium every month? I am literally too scared to build it :).Cement factory - is it bugged? It only rarely exports anything.Plantations are more expensive, and employ more people, but are they also more efficient than farms? Upkeep is definitely higher. I finished it multiple times, but I still have some things I do not understand: I played all Tropico games, but T4 is definitely my favorite (I hate T5 campaign!!!! T6 has no campaign).
